GLA is Making News!

Jay Farmerie, CWT, GLA Water Consultants, Inc., received the prestigious Ray Baum Memorial Water Technologist of the Year Award during the 2009 Association of Water Technologies (AWT) Annual Convention and Exposition. The conference, Bridging the Gap: Technology, Sustainability and the Global Economy was held at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, Florida August 26-29, 2009.

The award recognizes entrepreneurial spirit and outstanding contributions to the field of water treatment and service to the AWT and to the water treatment industry. As evidence of his dedication, Jay, an active member for 14 years, was a member of the Board of Directors for six years and has served the Association as President, Secretary and Chairman of the Legislative/Regulatory Committee. Currently, he continues to serve AWT as Chairman of the Certification Testing Development Committee and as an instructor for AWT’s Technical Training Programs. “Jay’s contributions to AWT have helped this organization grow and prosper. The foundation he was part of has lead to the next generation of the Certified Water Technologist (CWT) exam, as well as the continued success of AWT training programs,” said Scott W. Olson, CWT, AWT President.

Jay has authored and co-authored many papers related to water treatment issues, including Guidelines for the Treatment of Enhanced Tubes in Water-Based Condensers, Proper Treatment and Control of Corrosion in Closed Loop Systems and How To Select a Water Treatment Vendor.
